Taxi associations have taken the fight against these transport startups' purportedly unfair advantages to the streets, blocking ride-sharing vehicles and bullying their drivers. Siripa Jungsawat, general manager of Uber Thailand, says it recently launched Uber Flash, a Bangkok pilot programme that improves the allocation of Uber vehicles to reduce wait times. Lim Kell Jay, head of Grab Singapore, says Grab is running pilot autonomous car or robot car programmes in remote areas.
